From Size Chart to Size Finder
Overview:
Customer behavior analysis revealed that the size chart was one of the most-clicked elements on product pages, indicating significant sizing uncertainty.
However, the existing experience relied on a traditional size matrix that was difficult to use on mobile devices. Customers were forced to zoom, scroll, and manually interpret sizing information before making a purchase decision.
This created friction at a critical conversion point and increased the risk of hesitation, incorrect size selection, and returns.
Key Observation
The size chart wasn't helping customers choose a size.
It was helping customers search for a size.
There is a huge difference.
Customers don't want information.
Customers want confidence.
Solution
Rather than requiring shoppers to interpret a complex size chart, I designed and built an interactive Size Finder Calculator that provides an immediate size recommendation based on the customer's existing bra size.
The new experience:
Eliminated the need to interpret a sizing matrix
Worked seamlessly on mobile devices
Reduced decision fatigue
Increased confidence before adding products to cart
Created a faster path to purchase
Before
Static size chart:
Required manual interpretation
Difficult to use on mobile
No recommendation engine
High cognitive effort
After
Interactive Size Finder:
Personalized recommendation
Mobile-optimized experience
Immediate answer
Reduced uncertainty
Results
Following implementation:
Increased add-to-cart rate
Improved conversion rate
Reduced size-related returns
Improved customer confidence
Better mobile shopping experience
Key Takeaway
When customers repeatedly seek sizing information, the problem isn't a lack of information.
The problem is a lack of certainty.
Transforming a static size chart into a recommendation engine shifted the experience from "figure it out yourself" to "here's your best fit," creating a smoother path to conversion.
